Thursday 24 October 2024, 09:00-14:00 CEST
Event co-organised with STAND4EU
On 24th October 2024, from 9:00 to 14:00 CEST at TownHall Europe in Brussels join us for the final STAND4EU event, co-organised with HSbooster.eu. Discover how connecting research and innovation with standardisation can significantly enhance R&I results across Europe.
This event is a unique opportunity to engage with research projects and standardisation experts. Participants will share their experiences, discuss common challenges, and explore innovative solutions to bridge the gap between research and real-world application.
Background
The European Standardisation Strategy highlights the need to engage researchers and innovators in the standardisation process and incorporating relevant research findings into new and updated standards to support the market uptake of new technologies.
The EU funded projects HSbooster.eu and STAND4EU aim at connecting research with standardisation. Over the past two years, the HS Booster project has piloted a service-based facility designed to help European projects valorise their results by contributing to the creation or revision of standards. At the same time, the STAND4EU project has identified the bottlenecks and obstacles hindering standardisation efforts and developed a remediation plan. Both projects are currently working on their final recommendations with HSbooster.eu closing in March 2025 and STAND4EU in October 2024. Additionally, the European Standardisation Panel Survey, launched in 2023, looked at the demand from industry and other stakeholders for standards as potential results of R & I projects and put forward recommendations related to research and innovation.
This event will offer an opportunity to present the draft recommendations from these projects and engage in a discussion with the High-Level Forum to ensure a closer link between research, innovation, and standardisation. Attendees will also have the chance to share experiences from research projects and standardisation experts regarding the contribution of research to standardisation, as well as to discuss obstacles and potential solutions.
The ultimate goal is to formulate joint recommendations to be endorsed by the High-Level Forum, promoting a unified approach to better integrate research outcomes into standardisation efforts.
