Thanks to the input from our experts, projects are now better equipped to engage in standardisation activities. This includes developing a CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA), participating in Technical Committee and Working Group meetings, and actually contributing to the update of existing standards and the development of new standards.
Find more about some of the projects that actively contributed to Standards in our dedicated Success Stories page.
CWA support
The CWA support service provides specialised assistance to projects in developing a CWA. CWAs are designed specifically to facilitate projects' fast-tracking of contributions to standardisation. HSbooster.eu provides up to €10,000 for secretariat fees and guidance on writing and developing CWAs.
When to use: Ideal for projects aiming to impact standardisation directly and contribute to formal standards.
Value: Accelerates the contribution to standardisation with financial and technical support for engaging in formal standard development processes.

Contributions to standards
HSBooster.eu experts have supported research projects in turning their results into impactful contributions to international standards. By guiding projects through the standardisation landscape, HSBooster has enabled them to align their innovations with relevant SDOs and actively engage in shaping technical frameworks. Through this service, projects have, for instance, refined draft standards or recommendations and contributed their expertise to developing new work items — ensuring their results are recognised and integrated into industry practices.

HSBooster supported EUROBench in aligning its research with ISO/TC299 Robotics, focusing on the newly approved work item ISO NP 18646-5, which addresses performance criteria and test methods for legged service robots. EUROBench will actively contribute to drafting this standard through ISO/TC299/WG4, leveraging its research findings to inform and enhance the standardisation process.
Engagement in standardisation activities
Thanks to the guidance provided to projects by our experts, projects now know which TCs they should engage with, when meetings are taking place and which priorities their project can address. Many project beneficiaries have been able to take part in and contribute to standardisation meetings.
Analysing the results of the HSB services, we can state that all projects accessing the services have benefitted from information related to relevant standards in their field and indications of relevant SDOs, WGs or TCs. We observe that all projects have experienced some progress and advancements from their initial starting point in the standardisation journey. From these, over 50 were suggested to follow or join specific TCs to valorise their results better. In addition, HSB has followed up with most of the consulted projects that are still active after a few months of service delivery, and several have already engaged via informal presentations or memberships to the TCs.
