In support of the EU Strategy on Standardisation, HSbooster.eu II provides a structured platform through which standardisation experts can support European and national research and innovation projects in strengthening the standardisation potential of their results.
Experts with experience in National Standards Bodies, European Standards Organisations, International Standards Development Organisations, technical committees or working groups are invited to apply to join the HSbooster.eu II External Pool of Experts (EPE).
Contributing to standards is a common objective in R&I projects, often reflected in a dedicated task, deliverable or milestone. Yet navigating the path to engagement with standardisation working groups and technical committees can be complex, costly and difficult to achieve within the lifetime of a project. HSbooster.eu II bridges this gap by connecting projects with experienced standardisation practitioners — at no cost to the projects themselves, as part of the European Commission's Booster services framework.
Your role as an Expert
Selected experts may contribute to Mentoring, Accelerator and Proposal Support Services, depending on their expertise and the needs of applicants. Support may include one or more of the following activities:
- Coaching in standardisation practices and procedures
- Specifying the current state of the art in standards
- Identifying areas for new or revised standards
- Advising on possible paths for open standards
- Pinpointing optimal standardisation workflows and timelines
Remuneration and conditions
EPEs are remunerated at a standard rate of €400 per person day. Each EPE may be allocated to deliver multiple services up to a maximum total value of €60,000, in line with FSTP regulations.
Applications are evaluated on the basis of professional background, standardisation experience, thematic expertise and alignment with HSbooster.eu II service needs. Inclusion in the EPE does not imply immediate assignment: experts will be contacted when a suitable opportunity is identified and will receive all relevant information in due course. Delivery of services will begin after July 2026.
By joining the EPE, you will become part of a strategic network of standardisation stakeholders, with your contribution visible to the European Commission. You will also have the opportunity to interact with our External Advisory Group.
