Project Name: INTERoperable cloud-based solution for cross-vector planning and management of Positive Energy Districts
Description
InterPED aims to enable the concept of PEDs via sector coupling, cross-vector integration, demand flexibility and consumer engagement, while improving utilisation of local RES, storage and excess/waste heat (E/WH) sources. InterPED will couple these sources (community assets) available in the pilots with the necessary know-how and ICT expertise to ensure improved operation of PEDs and grid robustness. This will allow InterPED’s end users (aggregators, service providers, urban planners) to deliver benefits to both, grid stakeholders (DSO/TSOs) and final consumers (and prosumers). To do so, InterPED will deliver a scalable and adaptable cloud-based platform composed of analytical, modelling and optimisation services for planning, supervision and control of integrated PEDs (including power, heating and cooling, as well as mobility).
One of the expected contributions in InterPED is the deployment and testing of smart grid interoperability compliance and conformity tests for PED interoperability, in the context of contemporary certification and standardisation frameworks (OpenADR 2.0, USEF and SGIP IPRM). Specifically, Tasks 9.4 and 10.4 will support standardisation efforts related to data handling and data management issues (CEN-CLC-ETSI M/490), and align with EC’s Smart Grid Task Force (SGTF) and IEC TC57/WG21 on the smart grid interoperability,
The project will validate interoperability based on common vocabularies and recently developed ontologies, e.g. Common Semantic Data Model (CSDM) Data ingestion Common Information Model and Semantic Interoperability (omega-x.eu) The analysis and best practices identified can be reported to relevant Technical Committees.
Reason for applying to HSbooster.eu services
The high-level goal of InterPED within task 9.4 is to organise dialogues with Technical Committees (TC) and Working Groups (WG). InterPED envisions to contribute to standardisation efforts related to smart grid integration and interoperability (e.g. considering follow-up activities of European CEN-CLC-ETSI M/490, IEC TC57/WG21 alignment with Smart Grid Task Force (SGTF) and SmartEN (SEN) WGs). Hence, support for existing experts is needed.
The expert who will be assigned for the Standardisation Booster service can be present at their meetings and share his knowledge with them. Once the validation results are ready, the expert can convey the information to the relevant Technical Committees.
