Mentoring

Getting expert one-to-one guidance on your standardisation activities can be priceless for both individual projects and project clusters. HSbooster.eu’s mentoring services provide the opportunity for project beneficiaries to meet standardisation experts. We have built a community of 200 experts who analyse project needs, deliver meetings and workshops and provide personalised guidance. As well as insider knowledge on priorities, gaps and Technical Committee or Working Group timelines, projects can really understand how, when and where they can contribute to standardisation.
All experts are directly remunerated for their efforts by HSbooster.eu. All support is provided free of charge to projects.

Find more about some of the projects that received mentoring support in our dedicated Success Stories section and check out our Project Hub for details on all the projects that have applied for the HSbooster.eu Open Call.

One-to-one mentoring

These sessions provide direct, personalised guidance for projects needing targeted support on standardisation-related challenges. Experts help with standards mapping, engagement strategies, and process clarification.

Standard one-to-one

One-to-one consultancy services are designed to provide short, focused sessions between a standardisation expert and a project team. Typically, this involves two to four meetings over 3 months, addressing specific standardisation aspects.

When to use: Ideal for projects at any stage, needing targeted advice to address specific, but not too complex, standardisation challenges.

Value: Offers tailored, strategic guidance to align projects with standards and maximise impact.

Extended consultancy

The extended one-to-one consultancy offers more in-depth and extended engagement for complex challenges requiring sustained engagement with a Technical Committee or Working Group.
The service can also include additional financial and advisory support for:

  • Liaisons with Technical Committees (TCs).
  • Membership in National Standards Bodies (NSBs).
  • Purchasing relevant standards.

When to use: Ideal for in-depth, ongoing support or projects facing complex challenges.

Value: Enhances project outcomes by helping projects concretely contribute to standardisation gaps and strategically position themselves for future development.

As of August 2024, HSB has successfully delivered mentoring services to over 200 projects with many projects receiving multiple or extended consultancies.

Project cluster workshops

Here we address common challenges faced by clusters of projects often from the same or related funding calls. Multiple experts lead interactive workshops and meetings which provide tailored guidance, networking opportunities, and hands-on exercises. Key features include:

  • Collaborative learning: participants engage in interactive group sessions to exchange strategies and address shared challenges.
  • Thematic focus: workshops are structured around specific thematic areas relevant to participating projects, ensuring practical relevance.
  • Expert insights: standardisation experts present recommendations and facilitate discussions tailored to a collaborative approach to standardisation.

Each mentoring service often leads to a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations. Up to three connected workshops may be conducted to address the thematic focus fully.

When to use: Ideal for projects from similar funding calls facing common challenges or seeking collective strategies.

Value: Facilitates community learning, enhances engagement with standardisation experts, and delivers actionable outcomes.
