Cyber-MAR

Project Name: Cyber preparedness actions for a holistic approach and awareness raising in the MARitime logistics supply chain

Open Call Topic(s): Resilience

Description

Cyber-MAR is an effort to fully unlock the value of the use of cyber range in the maritime logistics value chain via the development of an innovative simulation environment adapting to the peculiarities of the maritime sector but being at the same time easily applicable in other transport subsectors. A combination of innovative technologies is the technology enabler of the proposed Cyber-MAR platform, which is not only a knowledge-based platform but, more importantly, a decision support tool for cybersecurity measures by deploying novel risk analysis and econometric models. CSIRTs/CERTs data collected will be analysed and fed the knowledge-based platform with new-targeted scenarios and exercises. Through Cyber-MAR, the maritime logistics value chain actors will increase their cyber awareness level; they will validate their business continuity management, minimising business disruption potential. Cyber-MAR will act as a cost-efficient training solution covering the maritime logistics value chain.

Reason for applying to HSbooster.eu services

In Cyber-MAR, we believe that overall, the Standardisation Booster services can help us improve our standardisation strategy and thus increase our project’s impact. Firstly, the services offered can help project consortium members to learn more about the relevant standardisation landscape and processes and engage with standardisation bodies. In addition, we believe that we will receive valuable feedback from experts about the standardisation potential and readiness level of our research and, finally, we can be appropriately guided concerning our project’s access to relevant standards development and technical committees/working groups.

Main Standardisation Interests

The Cyber-MAR project in relation to standardisation has as its main objectives on one hand to review standards, legal and regulatory issues related to technical aspects, to identify related standardisation working groups and activities and support the representation of Cyber-MAR to them in the context of new standards development and on the other hand to ensure that the project developments are in compliance with latest standards and methodologies.

In order to address these activities, a dedicated task has been defined in the project’s work plan as part of the Work Package “Exploitation and Policy Recommendations/Adoption Strategies”. Up to now, a thorough study of technical and operational standards has been conducted, and special focus has been given to the identification of pre-standardization channels related to the field of our project. Through continuous communication between partners, we have collected information regarding the use of standards by the Cyber-MAR components or their relation to them.
