HyWay

Project Name: Multiscale Characterisation and Simulation for Hydrogen Embrittlement Assessment: Development of an Open Knowledge Platform to Foster Capability Integration

Description

The project will create and deploy a standardisation plan of the HyWay suites based on (i) the identification of key standards and regulation, including data, documentation, and material ontology like CHADA, MODA, and EMMO, (ii) monitoring of these and (iii) assessment about the HyWay contribution towards these existing standards. The project will organise working meetings with key actors (e.g. EMCC, EMMO, and OCES) as well as map standrards and their check their status. Report the above to ensure that the project activities is compliant with existing standards and its activities and research outputs are relevant and can be used to inform and address gaps in existing standards.

Reason for applying to HSbooster.eu services

Based on the activities described, the output of these activities should include actionable recommendations towards standardisation bodies on how the HyWay suits, i.e. the methods developed during the project regarding multiscale characterisation and simulation for hydrogen embrittlement assessment for materials used in hydrogen infrastructure (storage, transportation, etc.) can be standardised or contribute to existing standards in order to promote the safer and more reliable adoption of hydrogen as one of the main future fuels. These actionable recommendations should consist of a report as well as other promotional material regarding HyWay's contribution towards standards, complemented by the interaction with relevant key players (e.g., working groups, participation in events, workshops, etc.).

In order to have the desired outputs from the project's activities it seeks guidance in identifying relevant key standards and regulations, how to monitor those standrads throughout the lifetime of the project and lastly how to assess the potential for HyWay to contribute towards these standards. Additionally it seeks guidance on how the standardisation processes is carried out in order for the project to be able to implement impactful dissemination/ communication activities.
