Why standardisation matters for R&I projects
Standardisation is a key mechanism for building a resilient European Single Market, enabling companies to demonstrate compliance with EU regulations, creating a level playing field for businesses, and increasing consumer confidence. For Research & Innovation projects, engaging with standardisation is one of the most effective — yet most underused — routes to lasting impact. Transferring R&I results to standards-setting organisations extends exploitation far beyond the project lifetime: it ensures the uptake and wider use of new technologies, guarantees interoperability and compatibility, provides recognised quality and safety levels, and codifies knowledge in clear, actionable ways.
In some domains, compliance with specific standards is not optional but a mandatory requirement for market access — making early engagement with standardisation essential, not just beneficial, to a project's real-world uptake and impact. Yet for many projects, standardisation remains an afterthought — the pathways into Technical Committees and Working Groups can seem complex, costly, and difficult to navigate within a project's duration.
What HSbooster II offers
HSbooster II addresses this by offering free, expert-led support to EU and nationally funded R&I projects at every stage of their standardisation journey — from proposal writing to direct contributions to Technical Committees. The initiative builds on HSbooster I (2022–2025), which supported over 300 projects across 28 countries with a pool of 90+ standardisation experts.
What to expect at this webinar
The first Open Call for projects opens in July 2026. Join this webinar to discover the full suite of HSbooster II services — the Proposal Support Service, the Mentoring Service, and the Standards Accelerator Service — and learn how and when to apply. You will also hear a real example from the first edition of HSbooster.eu: an expert and a project that worked together through the Mentoring Service, sharing what the experience delivered in practice and what future applicants can expect.
Project coordinators and teams at any stage — from proposal preparation to recently closed projects — are welcome to join and explore how to engage with standardisation at no cost to their project.
