Project Name: NetworkNature+ - Scaling up nature-based solutions to achieve 2030 policy goals
Description
NetworkNature is a one-stop-resource for nature-based solutions, bridging science, policy and practices, and an expanding ‘network of networks’ working together to raise awareness, share knowledge and build capacity about nature-based solutions to accelerate their uptake in business, science, policy and practice along the policy priorities of the European Green Deal.
It will maintain and add to a diverse and science-based repository of evidence on NbS, strengthen partnerships and foster new relationships around a clear, strategic framework for action. This work is underpinned by an up-to-date EU Research & Innovation NBS Roadmap and NetworkNature’s six priority themes: Biodiversity enhancement and ecosystem restoration; Sustainable food systems; Zero Pollution; Climate adaptation, mitigation and resilience; Sustainable finance, investment and just transition; Sustainable urban and regional transformation.
This will guide our stakeholder interactions, knowledge sharing and awareness raising, resulting in products, pre-standards and advisory services that support a growing NbS community of innovators, practitioners and policy-makers. Targeted training and capacity building programmes for local and regional authorities, decision-makers in governments, businesses and investors, and NbS hubs, promote an integrated, systemic and stakeholder-led approach to NbS planning, design and investment.
NetworkNature+ enables regional and European transdisciplinary collaboration to answer needs for NbS developing skills and capacity in target groups such as academia, policy, businesses and the general society. International collaboration with key strategic partners (e.g. UNCBD, IPBES, IPCC, UNFCCC, UNEP, UNDRR) and selected regions enable a European expertise to inform the global NbS discourse, contributing to the EC’s vision of “a stronger Europe in the world” and supporting new investments for NbS. We understand standardisation as a means of stakehodelr engegement, replication andsclaing of solutions and knowledge.
