Putting Science Into Standards for Molten Salt Reactors

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), in collaboration with CEN and CENELEC, organises the annual "Putting Science into Standards" (PSIS) initiative. The 2024 PSIS workshop will focus on Molten Salt Reactors (MSRs), a technology attracting increasing attention in Europe as a promising low-carbon energy source.

HSBooster at the 2023 EC JRC PSIS Workshop on Molten Salt Reactors

Nick Ferguson, Coordinator of HSBooster, will participate in the workshop, scheduled for 18-19 March 2024 in Brussels. The event, organised by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), CEN, and CENELEC, aims to accelerate the adoption of MSRs by exploring standardisation needs in areas such as thermo-physical property measurements, materials testing, and licensing. Ferguson will represent HSBooster and contribute to discussions on the standardisation and research priorities for MSR technology.

The event aims to accelerate the market uptake of MSRs by exploring standardisation needs in areas such as thermo-physical property measurements, materials testing, and licensing. Ferguson will represent HSBooster and contribute to discussions on the standardisation and research priorities for MSR technology.

The workshop will bring together researchers, industry experts, and policymakers to foster collaboration and identify key steps for integrating MSRs into the market.
