Description
Standards Norway (SN) is a private, non-profit member organisation responsible for developing Norwegian standards based on market needs. SN holds the copyright for Norwegian Standards and publishes approximately 1,200 new standards annually, reflecting both national proposals and European/international standards. As Norway’s national member in ISO and CEN (excluding telecom and electrotechnical fields), SN manages Norwegian participation in European and global standardisation work.
The collaboration between HSbooster.eu and Standards Norway focuses mainly on standardisation education and capacity building through active participation in the HSbooster Training Academy.
Representatives from Standards Norway, including Emanuela Rokke and Ivo Spira, contributed as trainers in the HSbooster Training Academy Session 10, titled “Terminology in Practice: Development, Dissemination, and Accessibility, and Their Impact on National Culture”. The session addressed key terminology challenges in standardisation and their relation to national languages and cultures.
In addition, SN involvement enriched the Training Academy’s materials, supporting HSbooster’s mission to enhance researchers’ knowledge, expertise, and skills in standardisation processes.
By participating as trainers and content contributors, SN helps equip researchers with essential tools to engage effectively in standardisation activities. This cooperation ensures alignment with European and international standardisation efforts, fostering better valorisation and uptake of research outcomes. The active role of National Standards Bodies like Standards Norway is key to bridging research and standardisation, promoting knowledge exchange, and supporting practical involvement in standards development across Europe.
