Description

The Instituto Português da Qualidade (IPQ) is Portugal’s national body responsible for managing and developing the Portuguese System for Quality (SPQ), which encompasses standardisation, metrology, and qualification. Established in 1986, IPQ acts as the National Standardisation Body, coordinating Portuguese participation in European and international standardisation activities. IPQ also oversees official certification and accreditation related to quality matters.

The collaboration between HSbooster and IPQ centres on strategic stakeholder engagement and ongoing dialogue. HSbooster, through its partner Dansk Standard, has established direct “touchpoints” with IPQ as part of its Work Package 4 activities, which focus on engagement, monitoring, and fostering pan-European synergies within the standardisation community. This continuous dialogue enables HSbooster to maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the standardisation landscape at national, European, and international levels.

Engagement with IPQ is crucial for HSbooster to secure access to standards and standardisation committees relevant to EU-funded projects, enhancing the effectiveness of its consultancy services.

Moreover, several HSbooster experts have made direct contributions to IPQ’s work, including Diana Soeiro, Sandra Feliciano, Isabel Maria Santos Caetano, and Octávio Lopes.
