SEDIMARK

Project Name: SEcure Decentralised Intelligent Data MARKetplace

Description

The overall concept behind SEDIMARK is to provide a generic purpose decentralised marketplace for data and
services, built on the vision of the EU strategy for Data44, so that (i) data can flow easily within the EU and across
sectors, (ii) users get FAIR access to data and (iii) data are shared only in a secure and trustworthy way. To achieve
this, SEDIMARK will develop a decentralised data and services marketplace that will be secure and trustworthy
by design, ensuring quality and the integrity of the data that are shared, improving their interoperability and
complying with FAIR principles.

The Security and Access control entity will leverage decentralised identities to establish identity for devices,
organisations and individuals. Using a Network of Trust, and Verifiable Credential (i.e., digital certificates), trust
and verification can be transferred from one entity (root of trust) to another. W3C standards for Decentralised
Identifiers and Documents (DID) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs) will be used to established identities with
various Level of Assurance that can be verified by third parties.

The data-marketplace module indexes the data from registered providers and catalogue the available data sources
and services to make them available in a unified way for all connected nodes while being compliant with the current
standards of data exchange from IDSA (International Data Space Architecture) such as trust, data sovereignty and
standardised interoperability.

In order to have results creating commercial impact and guaranteeing a solid return of investments, Task 6.3 focuses on:
(i) Standards bodies: monitor the ongoing work (so to be informed on the latest decision of the standards) and, when the
case, impact the ongoing work of standardisation bodies relevant for the project scope, (ii) Regulatory bodies: explore
the possibilities of coordinating and engaging with relevant national and international (e.g. CEPT) regulatory bodies on
topics affecting the next generation of IoT architectures.

Reason for applying to HSbooster.eu services

The project needs consultancy in how to lead the Task 6.3 (from above) to have maximum efficiency to getting achieving the goals of applying/using standards throughout the development of SEDIMARK and potentially extend or even create new standards.
