A harmonised standard is a European standard developed by a recognised European Standards Organisation: CEN, CENELEC, or ETSI. It is created following a request from the European Commission to one of these organisations.
ICT (information and communication technologies) standards play an essential role in achieving interoperability of new technologies and can bring significant benefits to both industry and consumers. Standardisation is an essential component of industrial competiveness. Internationalisation is an integral part of any institution with the objective of achieving business continuity.
The proposed agreement maintains that expert advice on standardisation to EC projects is significant to achieve its objective(s). In this project, the expert advise of IWR Heidelberg was endorsed by the project coordinator.
