Project Name: Ensuring Secure & Safe Connected Medical Devices Design with Zero Trust Principles
Description
Cyberattacks targeting healthcare networks could potentially compromise clinical data, personal health information and proprietary research initiatives. The EU-funded ENTRUST project will seek to tackle the lack of cybersecurity implementations in connected medical devices without limiting their wide applicability. The proposed trust management architecture will dynamically and holistically manage the life cycle of connected medical devices, strengthening trust and privacy in the entire medical ecosystem. This includes formally verified trust models, risk assessment processes, secure life cycle procedures, security policies, technical recommendations and real-time conformity certificates. The added value and effectiveness of the ENTRUST Trust Management Framework will be validated and evaluated in four real-world use cases ranging from wearable and medical devices used for remote patient monitoring to high-end stationery equipment used in hospitals and clinics. The ENTRUST project has a standardisation plan which has already mapped potentially relevant standards and envisions the generation of contributions to open/international standardisation bodies towards maximising the visibility and relevance of it's outputs and enablers. Exploitation-oriented standardisation activities could also be considered depending on relevance of results and market opportunities.
Reason for applying to HSbooster.eu services
As previously mentioned, the project would particularly appreciate Standardisation Booster's expertise in the identification of relevant standardisation avenues to maximise the viability of the project results towards eventual exploitation. Meeting the KPIs in the standardisation plan is also a highly relevant objective, for this action they would appreciate our support on the identification of relevant SDOs/Questions vis-a-vis the project's KERs/solutions. Additionally, support towards the specification of contributions to match the scope and/or area of expertise of each SDO will be greatly appreciated, as consortium members are working towards meeting the project's objectives, but are not familiar with the working practices of all relevant international (be it public or private) SDOs, the steps necessary to start/maintain liaisons with such SDOs, and the way in which contributions are managed/drafted for each.
