This factsheet provides a comprehensive guide to the consultancy process, ensuring a seamless collaboration between you and the projects you'll be assisting.
Becoming a Consultant
If you have a deep knowledge of standardisation and are eager to share your insights with EU-funded or national projects, HSbooster.eu 2 is your ideal platform. Your expertise will be pivotal for research and innovation projects, ensuring their results are in sync with current standards and are integrated into the relevant standardisation groups or committees.
To join our expert pool, simply submit your application for our Open Call. Keeping your profile updated ensures we can best match you with projects that align with your expertise.
After the application
Once you've applied, we'll conduct an eligibility check to ensure your expertise aligns with our needs. We may consider your experience in standardisation, topic knowledge and participation in standardisation activities. This will make us better equipped to ensure that we can match you to appropriate projects when applications from projects are received. Upon successful verification, you'll receive a confirmation from HSbooster.eu 2.
Subsequently, our team will guide you through administrative procedures, including contract details and remuneration. An introductory briefing will be scheduled to familiarise you with the process. As soon as a project matching your expertise emerges, and you're available, the consultancy journey begins.
Consultancy Service
As a consultant, you'll provide invaluable insights on various standardisation-related aspects of research projects. Your role is to support projects, ensuring they can effectively engage with standardisation processes and achieve tangible results.
Types of Consultancy Offered
The types of consultancy you could be asked to provide include, as an example:
- Standardisation Mapping: Identify and assess standards relevant to the project.
- Suggestions on Deliverables or Strategy: Offer recommendations for future standardisation activities.
- Understanding Standardisation: Explain the intricacies of standardisation, including development and adoption.
- Training Materials: Provide resources related to standardisation processes, including those available in the HSbooster.eu Training Academy
- Engaging with SDOs or TCs/WGs: Guide projects on interacting with relevant standardisation bodies.
- Accelerate pathways to standardisation: In a second phase, selected projects that have completed the Mentoring Service and demonstrate clear standardisation potential may be invited to access the Accelerator Service. This advanced support will be delivered by a subset of EPE experts specifically trained by the HSbooster.eu II consortium, with the aim of helping projects move towards more concrete engagement, contribution or uptake within the relevant standardisation ecosystem.

Your Role and Commitment
The consultancy is designed to be efficient and targeted, with services structured to maximise impact within a concise timeframe. Here's an overview of the timing for each service:
- Estimated effort by the expert: The mentoring service requires 3 full working days spread over 3 months, including up to 4 calls with the project. This approach ensures focussed support and guidance. If a project requires a longer timeframe, custom arrangements can be negotiated. The Accelerator service requires approximately 7.5 working days, while the proposal support requires approximately 1 working day. Each working day is fixed at 8 hours.
-
Possibility to request additional services
It's important to note that the HSbooster Consultancy Service is modular. Therefore, projects may, in principle, apply for more than one HSbooster.eu II service where this is justified by their needs and maturity level. However, priority will be given to projects that have not previously received support, in order to ensure broad access to the services and maximise the reach of HSbooster.eu II across the research and innovation community..Output and Confidentiality
At the end of your consultancy, you'll compile a summary report detailing meetings, activities, and recommendations. It is recommended that you start working on the report as soon as the service starts and that you keep the platform updated with all the dates of meetings planned or held and with all relevant information. While the final activity report is confidential, it may be accessed by selected HSbooster 2 team members, EC representatives and the External Advisory Group members for quality check reasons. These individuals will not disseminate the report.Accessing the Platform
