HSBooster at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2024: Enhancing Standardisation for Future Technologies

HSBooster.eu is proud to be attending the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2024 in Antwerp, Belgium, from June 3-6 to promote its free standardisation support services for EU-funded research projects and share the outcomes of a three-month collaboration with the SNS Joint Undertaking. This collaboration, centred on a series of workshops on 6G pre-standardisation held between March and June, organised in cooperation with the SNS-OPS CSA, culminated in the report "6G Pre-standardisation: Challenges, Requirements, and Future Steps."

The report provides practical recommendations for advancing 6G research and standardisation. These include the importance of early engagement in standardisation activities to align 6G research with industry standards, integrating advanced features and AI into 6G to enhance network efficiency, and tailoring 6G research to industry needs with a focus on sustainability. Multidisciplinary collaboration and global standards are also highlighted as essential for the successful deployment of 6G technologies. This involves fostering cooperation across various fields, such as AI and cybersecurity, and engaging with global stakeholders to harmonise standards and promote international interoperability. Additionally, this report advocates for regulatory frameworks supporting the development and deployment of 6G technologies. Such frameworks are key for ensuring safety, efficiency, and global competitiveness while encouraging innovation through supportive policies.

The recommendations are addressed to researchers, SDOs, and policymakers and align with the broader themes of EuCNC, such as sustainable 6G development, integration of advanced technologies, regulatory frameworks, and international collaboration. Sessions at EuCNC, such as "Sixtainability: Paving the Way for a Sustainable 6G" and "Bringing 6G from Vision to Reality in Europe – The Key Role of Regulation in Research," reflect these themes and emphasise the timely contribution of these recommendations.
